This book was presented as part of the third annual Centro Abierto. Intervenciones de sitio específico en el Centro Histórico de Lima, organized by Alta Technologia Lima (ATA) and the Lima Museum of Art (MALI), Paisaje Urbano 19... is a complete facsimilie of an unrealized 1978-79 project by the Peruvian conceptual artist Teresa Burga, which proposed to measure every conceivable aspect of the Plaza de Armas de Lima, including the pollutants in the air and the Plaza's distance from the moon. Tipping towards absurdity, Burga's rigorous method emphasizes the desire of art to expand its field of action into total objectivity.
